Teacher Leadership: What does it mean to be a leader in my classroom?
About the Event
Early childhood teachers are charged to prepare their young students for school and life success. It is therefore important that they take leadership of their classrooms. In this webinar, we will explore how teachers can lead from the classroom and ultimately effective leaders within their centers. We will define teacher (classroom) leadership and why it is important. We will also look at the knowledge, skills, and practices needed to make leadership more effective and impactful for student outcomes. Finally, participants will identify how they can share new trends and ideas, and lessons learned by collaborating with peers, with the goal of improving students’ learning and classroom environments leading to positive outcomes for children.
By the end of this training, participants will:
1. Explain the importance of teacher leadership
2. Discover how leading from the classroom impacts outcomes for children
3. Identify strategies to collaborate with peers
4. Describe how to reflect on effective teaching practice
