The Growing Brain 3-A: Communication Milestones and Strategies to Support Young Children (Birth through Three)
About the Event
We are facilitating The Growing Brain Series that will take place over the course of a series of sessions on Zoom. Participants will receive 1.5 in-service hours each session they attend.
Do you find it sometimes challenging to understand very young children in your care or in your home? In order for adults to help meet the needs of young children, we need to understand how and why they communicate. During the first part of unit 3 of the Growing Brain series of trainings, participants will review the key milestones in language development in young children from birth -3 years old. We will also review strategies to help support and nurture these communication skills.
By the end of this training, participants will:
1. Describe communication milestones in children from Birth-12 months
2. Describe communication milestones in children from 12-36 months
3. Identify strategies for supporting language skills in young children
