Let’s Get CLASSy Pre-K 2nd Edition - Learn About Positive Interactions in Pre-K Classrooms (8/20/2026)

About the Event

Please contact elcbtraining@elcbroward.org if you have questions or need assistance.

Building on the established foundation of meaningful teacher-child interactions, the CLASS® 2nd Edition includes key enhancements such as clearer behavioral markers and more inclusive and varied examples that represent a wider range of cultures, communities, and child abilities. In early childhood settings, each moment that teachers and children interact with one another is an opportunity to develop positive relationships that build on learning. During this training, we will discuss the importance of using developmentally appropriate strategies during classroom activities that take into consideration children’s differing needs, interests, learning styles, and abilities. We will also explore effective ways to increase language and vocabulary, enhance feedback, promote self-regulation in children through behavior management and routines, and link concepts to the real world with intensity and frequency.

By the end of this training, participants will:
1. Recognize how to help children develop relationships, feel comfortable, and experience independence
2. Recognize how to help children develop skills to regulate their own behavior and maintain interest in different learning activities
3. Recognize how to support children’s cognitive development and language growth
4. List ways to reflect on interactions with children

This training will take place on Zoom.
